To add a data point, I recently upgraded my Dell 1555 (xubuntu 12.04) from 3Gb to 8Gb of RAM and the problem has disappeared. In a month, I haven't had a single failed resume. I use the computer in exactly the same way that I always have. Interestingly I now monitor memory usage with a widget (system monitor in xfce4), and I consistently uses 4+Gb of RAM - the worst offender is Google Chrome - sometimes I can have 50+ tabs open. Is the issue related to memory swapping?
I wonder if other users reporting this problem also have large memory use programs running prior to suspend. Pretty easy to test, close everything and try suspend/resume. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/748004 Title: system becomes very slow after suspend/resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/748004/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
