Public bug reported:

Gedit will fairly consistently crash if the contents of the directory
displayed in the file open directory are changed. Actually does not
crash out, but freezes and no longer responds.

To cause this to happen:
1. I started to open a file, so the file chooser dialog is visible.
2. Using Thunar. Copied a directory. Renamed that files in that directory.
Basically several operations that alter the directory that is visible in the
Gedit open file chooser dialog.

Does not happen 100% of the time, but probably 50% of the time.
