Ok. This is an update from the author of the hid_logitech_dj module: "We've found the root cause and we have a patch that we would like you to try. The culprit is a modification introduced by commit 4ea5454203d991ec that added a new semaphore to each hid_device. This commit came after the hid_logitech_dj driver was included in the kernel and it silently broke it.
This patch should resolve what we observe. It is not a permanent/elegant solution, but it is the only way we can solve the issue without impacting other modules in the kernel. We'd like you to test it on your side and let us know your results. It is working for me. If as expected, works for you too, we'll publish the patch for inclusion. In parallel we will start a discussion on the best approach to solve the lock issue. You can ignore a warning about a missing return value on line 469. We'll fix that later before submission." Attached you will find a preliminary patch. WARNING: This is for people that want to test it. I repeat this is for testing purposes. If you don't know what you are doing you are advised to wait until it is included upstream. You have been warned. ** Patch added: "Patch for testing" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/958174/+attachment/3213228/+files/0001-HID-hid-logitech-dj-fix-bug.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958174 Title: Wireless Mouse not registered on Startup or Reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/958174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
