Dear Sebastien Thank you! Leaving the mouse clicked for a few seconds does the trick. I have noticed that the new Dash and Launcher are "slower" and "less sensitive" to activate. I should have worked this out for myself. (I'm afraid I don't know what "xsession-errors" are - but it doesn't matter now.)
