Since upgrading to Precise this has occurred once or twice, but I cannot find a trigger to recreate it, and I have put it into standby regularly to try and recreate.. I'll let this bug expire and if it occurs again I'll see if I can find any logs that may offer a clue.
The problem being that the machine doesn't restore from standby so no logs are likely to be written.
