If you are using 12.04, the default Chinese Mode is still locale based which has already confused many people.
However, you should able to save Chinese Mode setting once you change Chinese Mode in the language panel. If you cannot see the language panel, you can either: 1. Set "Show language panel:" as "Always". 2.
