Also seeing this in a to this date fully updated Ubuntu Feisty. This is certainly also a problem when you reboot your computer. If you right- click the NetworkManager Applet you will see that wireless is enabled again even though it was disabled before the reboot.
I think this is a quite serious bug, how do we get some attention to it?
