won't dupe because once released you'll see many bugs such as this if
this change remains

For info sake - Atm you need to create a template in ~/Templates. Then
the "Empty Document" option will appear though if you use a text/plain
template you'll get 2 options for text/plain

Best option for users is create an Open Office (odt) template so there
is only 1 choice for the more commonly used "Empty Document" (Untitled
Document - text/plain
