Hi there! Same problem here with Feisty (7.04)
1) I installed scanbuttond <-------- to fix the problem of USB_SUSPEND in Feisty 2) I tweaked scanbuttond with a small script as reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane- backends/+bug/85488/comments/200 <------- this to fix scan lamp not going back to "parking position" after scanning. But the random and AWFUL noise (most of times on the beginning of scanning) with consequent scanner hang IS STILL THERE!! Only by unplugging the scanner form USB port, does terminates the screechy noise...I'm also afraid it can damage something within the scanner... NOTE: While the noise + hanging often happens in regular scanning....it seems to not be present in the "preview mode". I've tried with a CANON Lide 25 and the awfull noise + hanging problem does not occur. I'm googling and googling but still can't find a solution....someone suppose it's an issue with electrical current manging the scan lamp.... Any help / suggestion will be gladly apreciated! -- My scanner, a Canon CanoScan LIDE 20, makes grinding noise https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/40682 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
