I see the same behavior sometimes after bootup: NM configures wlan0 but
it is impossible to communicate over it.

Disabling and re-enabling networking usually fixes the problem.  Setting
the 11n_disable parameter to 1 seems to prevent it from happening.
Keeping the laptop plugged in (to power) may also prevent it from
happening, but I'm not sure.
