Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: eclipse

Hello! I noticed that after a fresh install eclipse throws the following
message to the console:

~$ eclipse
using specified vm: /usr/lib/jvm/java
Could not create /usr/local/lib/eclipse/.eclipseextension. Please run as root:
    touch /usr/local/lib/eclipse/.eclipseextension
    chmod 2775 /usr/local/lib/eclipse/.eclipseextension
    chown root:staff /usr/local/lib/eclipse/.eclipseextension

It starts correctly after following the advice once. I believe the file
should be created by the installer (apt package). I noticed this on an
up-to-date Gutsy, but I think I remember it happening once on Feisty,
too.

** Affects: eclipse (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
