I'm on Debian, but I've just encountered this. I'm running du, and it
is just sitting there in R state, using 100% CPU:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
12047 alex 39 19 5656 496 408 R 99.9 0.0 219:12.08 du
kill -9 doesn't work, kill -STOP doesn't stop it. Can't attach to it
with gdb.
