The failure, in DpkgTerminalLog.txt is a permission error:

  running python rtupdate hooks for python3.2...
  /usr/share/python3/runtime.d/ubuntu-drivers-common.rtupdate: 4: 
/usr/share/python3/runtime.d/ubuntu-drivers-common.rtupdate: 
/usr/share/ubuntu-drivers-common: Permission denied
  error running python rtupdate hook ubuntu-drivers-common

This is probably related to the recent bumps seen in bug 1024016.  But a
permissions problem seems unusual to me.  Did you have to do any manual
workarounds for that problem?  I wonder if this problem could be an
after-effect of that.  Thanks.
