I don't know whether this is of use to anyone (I am just an end user rather than a technical person) but after several weeks of testing this bug, I can confirm that this is power related.
If I have my laptop plugged in when I resume, I NEVER get this error message at all. Indeed the only way that I have discovered to avoid this error is to open the lid, with the laptop still plugged in. If my laptop isn't plugged in, I have approximately a 1 in 3 chance of getting the Invalid Frame Buffer ID error message. Rendering this device virtually useless as a laptop, as I now have to shut down and restart when away from a power point. Just to re-iterate, this problem has only occurred with 12.04 when restoring from resume (sleep, standby, suspend or whatever it is called) and is still present on kernel 3.2.14-030214-generic-pae. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993941 Title: [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id - fail resume from hybernate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
