melchiaros, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.
At face value, many would agree with you. However, Ubuntu has a well
defined process to introduce newer packages than those available in the
repos based on specific, technically driven reasons. If you have a bug
fix or feature that the newer version provides you and you want to see
it in the Ubuntu repos, could you please provide specific, technical
information on this?
