Hi Evan, and thank you for taking the time to look at my bug report,
especially as it was worksforme.

You're correct in assuming I was encountering problems with user-level
capture in wireshark. Yesterday I solved this problem by removing the
wireshark group without problems using users-admin (Users and Groups
GUI) and reinstalling wireshark.

I got back into my primary group thanks to your advice.
