DavidD, this is:
- a clearcut upstream issue. You are welcome to send this to the developers of
the software by following the instructions verbatim at
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport . If you have done so, please tell
us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that
will inform us about its status.
Resolving as Won't Fix in libreoffice (Ubuntu) and LibreOffice Packaging. This
does not mean the issue will not be cared about, but if it is cared about (even
by Ubuntu/Canonical contributors), it is done upstream at LibreOffice.

** Description changed:

- Additional comment entered by vijayaraj83: I retested this, i am also facing
the same problem. However there is a workaround.user can edit the field from
Formula bar
+ 3) What is expected to happen in a blank Calc spreadsheet is when one types
in cell A1:
+ [email protected]
+
+ clicks Enter, then highlights the cell and clicks F2, one may edit the
+ hyperlink.
+
+ 4) What happens instead is that the hyperlink is uneditable this way.
+
+ WORKAROUND: Highlight the cell -> click Insert -> Hyperlink.
