@Leslie - Please read the bug itself. It's about complete system freezing, that script is one possible way to trigger it. OP mentioned it happened when using Cinnamon which is not the glxgears script. It's possible the mechanism causing glxgears to kill it has indeed been fixed, while another has not been. This bug is unfortunately broad enough that it covers both situations. Many of the previous comments and tests related to issues that weren't necessarily triggered by the glxgears script. A new bug would likely end up as a duplicate with this one reopened.
Unrelated noise is Sandy Bridge and AMD, not this same issue continuing on Ivy Bridge. I had the proposed kernel lock up within minutes while only using the web, ended up back on 3.4 for any semblance of stability. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999910 Title: [IVB]12.04 64 bit System freezes (mouse, keyboard) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/999910/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
