try this: entered Standard CMOS Setup
set the Primary Master to:
Type = User, Mode = LBA
by scrolling through the options
then set the Primary Slave to:
Type = Auto, Mode = Auto

After installing Ubuntu I get the message, "GRUB loading...error 21"
