John, I haven't tried to set the power management using the administrator function since June. The system is working for me without doing this, so I am leaving well enough alone.
I wouldn't know whether this is still an issue with my system. And personally, I do not feel like taking the chance on having to copy over my xorg.conf file again. Sorry I couldn't be of service...
