Notwithstanding: FF, Chrome et. al. automatically disables Java in the browser without recourse or alternatives and no alerting the user. Ubuntu update manager is very persistent about installing OpenJDK and ICEDtea which wrecks my dev environment. The computing environment would be much better if standards were observed instead of the current free-for-all.
