Sorry, but in the 9 MONTHS since I logged this bug the laptop on which
this was occurring has died, it won't power up at all. I sometimes
wonder if Ubuntu killed it. I have a new one now but it has an Apple on
the lid.

Can I politely point out that when it takes 9 months to even get around
to investigating something it looks as if you're not interested and I
gave up logging bugs on Ubuntu a long time ago because of this. You may
like to pass this comment on to your management.
