Public bug reported:
Hello,
The mouse and keyboard freezes randomly and there is no way of bailing
out with any combination of keyboard commands, suggesting the keyboard
is completely frozen out. So the only option has been to use the power
button to do a hard shut down each time. This has been happening when
browsing websites (through Firefox) and viewing documents as well.(Also,
the PC froze when runnung more than one application; i.e. Rhythmbox
Music Player and another App). I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 as the sole OS.
Any ideas on what causes this and what fixes are available?
Would like to know what options there are for a 'softer' shutdown as
well. Am I right in thinking the kernal isn't responding when trying
keyboard commands?
System spec:
Clevo Voyager W270
Intel® Core™i5 Dual Core Mobile Processor i5-3210M (2.50GHz) 3MB
320GB WD SCORPIO BLACK WD3200BEKT, SATA 3 Gb/s, 16MB CACHE (7200 rpm)
Intel® HD Graphics 3000/4000 Video Memory Technology up to 1.7GB
Thanks for any help you have.
Tim
