@Ryan: If you have time, please file a new bug report against network-
manager saying that it can't configure your T-Mobile Rocket USB HSPA
stick (whereas sakis3g can). Most useful would be it you installed
network-manager, rebooted, plugged in the stick and tried your best to
connect with it; thenuse "apport-bug" to file a report along with
relevant information about your system.
