Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the
possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it.
First check whether the idea is already registered

specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start
writing a spec yourself.

You'll probably want to discuss it in forums first. Also, please note
that what is ergonomic for right-handed users may be much less so for
left-handed users.
I'd recommend submitting a specification for a configuration manager
that will handle such changes, without requiring the user to manually
edit config files.
