Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: initramfs-tools
Resume fails due to a delay in the initialization of the device. This
bug was exacerbated by the already reported problems with resume failure
changing UUID of swap devices and the fact that update-initramfs only
updates the latest kernel (not the one I was testing). This is similar
to bug 83025 I think but not sure. Quick fix is to remove the test if
the device exists if [ -e ${resume}] before running /bin/resume. I got
fed up with UUID and used my swap device directly. With a test shell
the device shows up after a few seconds after the shell is started.
Running Feisty upgraded from Dapper. Problem fix/work on Feisty and
latest udev/initramfs-tools packages
Thinkpad T60 (sata drive)
fix works with apt-get source --build for
initramfs-tools_0.85eubuntu12_all.deb
udev_111-0ubuntu5_i386.deb
Linux Kiwi 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 20:19:32 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
also tried on 22-6.13 generic kernel also.
More details available upon request.
