Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usplash

Ubuntu 7.04, german version, dual-boot with WinXP.
Installation from CD worked well with PC connected to screen, mouse und
keyboard via a switchbox.
As soon as the newest updates were applied, system freezes after booting on the
login-screen.

Keyboardaction works for selecting the os on grub bootmanager-selection,
but system freezes within a second after the loginscreen appears. Also
mouse doesn't work any more.

1. Cables between PC and switchbox exchanged - system hangs
2. Ports-position on switchbox exchanged - system hangs
3. keyboard and mouse behind switchbox exchanged - system hangs
4. keyboard directly connected to PC: all works fine

You might resume then that this is a mistake of the switchbox - maybe.
Why then another PC with WinXP can handle this without problems? Why
Ubuntu could handle this until the latest updates where applied?

Gruß, Gerhard
