Hmmm ... that sounds like a 'negative-test' which probably is good
enough, but might be wrong. Who knows for sure what magic is build in
somewhere and what happens in case proxy cannot be reached ;).

Anyway, I will read the code, as at a glance it looked reasonable to
me.
