This is my first installation of Ubuntu, so I cannot provide feedback on prior versions. In an unrelated note: I have to modify xorg.conf default bit rate from 24 to 16 to get my monitor to draw at 1024x768. If not, it draws at 800x600 and leaves a 2 inch black boarder around the whole screen. This occurs on all of the other distros I attempted to install...
