This bug still exists (with both kernel trees). The workaround mentioned above "set gfxpayload=keep" does not work anymore for some reason. "intelfb.blacklist=1" still fixes the issue without blacklisting vga16fb. My current graphic driver is VESA as the sis driver I used before does not compile against the current Xorg version. I don't know how/if the framebuffer is related to Xorg drivers, but I will try to rudimentary update that driver and test again.
