This could possibly be caused by firmware as it shows in fwts log. But I also 
wonder if it's a kernel regression as this machine should have already been 
certified with 11.10. Two things worth trying:
1. remove the BIOS battery, and the re-install it, and test again.
2.re-test this machine with 11.10, if 11.10 works but 12.04 doesn't, it's a 
regression.
