thanks for being flexible with the alsa-info not being in the typical
(alsa-info.sh) format because of the script not working.  The
information (i'm assuming) is hte same, though.

You guys are geniuses if you can solve this sound problem.  I've tried
every howto, wiki, fixit, to remedy this sound bug.

Also, another nifty tid-bit I just tried opening totem and it said the
sound is in use by another application.  But I jsut rebooted. no other
apps are open. My guess is that the drivers are treating the modem as
the soundcard by accident.
