Thanks. As a temporary workaround until we find how did the unparseable
entries appear, I sugges deleting the following lines manually:

deb http://archive.canonical.com/ partner
deb-src http://archive.canonical.com/ partner

You can do this by executing the command `gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list` 
from a terminal, deleting the lines, and pressing Ctrl+S/Save from the menu. I 
hope this helps.
