I tried linux-
image-3.5.0-030500rc7-generic_3.5.0-030500rc7.201207142035_amd64.deb,
which didn't set video mode correctly or recognize wlan or umts
automatically. Didn't bother to tinker, it was built for quantal anyway.

Then tried linux-
image-3.4.0-030400rc6-generic_3.4.0-030400rc6.201205061835_amd64.deb
which was the latest mainline build for precise. It seems to work fine.

Also, I tried linux-image-3.2.0-26-generic to pinpoint the bug's
appearance. It worked, whereas linux-image-3.2.0-27-generic still fails
setting ad-hoc mode as before. (Let it be mentioned that it does seem to
associate to a wlan access point and traffic goes through.)

So, the bug seems to touch only the 3.2.0-27 precise kernel and not be
present at least on the 3.4.0 mainline.
