I tried linux- image-3.5.0-030500rc7-generic_3.5.0-030500rc7.201207142035_amd64.deb, which didn't set video mode correctly or recognize wlan or umts automatically. Didn't bother to tinker, it was built for quantal anyway.
Then tried linux- image-3.4.0-030400rc6-generic_3.4.0-030400rc6.201205061835_amd64.deb which was the latest mainline build for precise. It seems to work fine. Also, I tried linux-image-3.2.0-26-generic to pinpoint the bug's appearance. It worked, whereas linux-image-3.2.0-27-generic still fails setting ad-hoc mode as before. (Let it be mentioned that it does seem to associate to a wlan access point and traffic goes through.) So, the bug seems to touch only the 3.2.0-27 precise kernel and not be present at least on the 3.4.0 mainline. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030123 Title: 8086:0085 Ad-Hoc wlan broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1030123/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
