Janne Savikko, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 989226

It works nicely with console and LightDM login screen, but when I log in to Ubuntu/Ubuntu2D, screens (external and internal) go blank. Restarting LightDM usually works (works as in "you'll see the LightDM login screen again), but sometimes this hangs the whole system. Things you need to know: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release: 12.04 2) apt-cache policy linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic: - Installed: 3.2.0-24.37 - Candidate: 3.2.0-24.37 - Version table: - *** 3.2.0-24.37 0 - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages - 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-proposed/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + Installed: 3.2.0-24.37 + Candidate: 3.2.0-24.37 + Version table: + *** 3.2.0-24.37 0 + 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-updates/main amd64 Packages + 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-proposed/main amd64 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) I expect that X doesn't crash and I see output on both (or at least one) displays. 4) X crashes, both screens turn black. Sometimes external monitor turns red. Console usually works after the problem. LightDM has to be restarted. + + WORKAROUND: + echo SATA_ALPM_ENABLE=true | sudo tee /etc/pm/config.d/sata_alpm ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/989226 Title: HDMI out doesn't work with ASUS Zenbook UX31E To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/989226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
