At last, It works just fine for me ! :-)
Here's my clue :
Setting initially the PC, in the BIOS parameters, I had set the audio chipset
to act as an AC97, figuring that this mode would have a better support on Linux.
But I was wrong.
Recently, I went in the BIOS again, and decided to try the other option for the
audio setting : HD Audio. And it works just fine now :-)
