I tried testing with several mainline kernels, but used the i386 versions when I should apparently have used the amd64 versions. None of the i386 mainline kernels would boot. I will try again with some amd64 kernels.
Some relevant info: The hard drive was in fact OK. I have seen the same problem with another 3TB hard drive on the same host and on another host, which supports the idea that it's a software problem. Both were running the 3.2.0-27-generic kernel when they experienced the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030971 Title: python[8637] general protection ip:577e20 sp:7fff2be66a78 error:0 in python2.7[400000+272000]; RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff81190118>] [<ffffffff81190118>] __d_lookup_rcu+0x88/0x160 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1030971/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
