usecase and why it's important though (just to know why people need the
utmp infos)

is that still an issue? we fixed some gstreamer bugs with SRUs

that issue has been fixed in a stable update

that would be a question for GNOME but staying on old version is not a
solution that will scale over time so you should find a way to work
around that...
