I get this as well. Since I work with photos alot, this is hugely
annoying.

I attached 3 images:
* 1 original straight from my camera
* 1 thumbnail generated with Kubuntu 7.04
* 1 thumbnail generated with Gentoo

The thumb from Gentoo is normal, and the one from Kubuntu is corrupt on the 
right side. Both use KDE 3.5.6.
I compared the thumbs in GIMP and noticed that the one created in Kubuntu has 
been scaled to be 1px shorter,
then a 1px row with random colors has been appended at the right side. What's 
up with that?
