Seems like we have a lot of problems with ejecting medium. About the gutsy ... you don't have secondary drive? Updating with adept (with modification of all instances of "feisty" in /etc/apt/sources.list to "gutsy") and then upgrading may work, but it still means you'll have gutsy on your Hard disk.
