I don't leave that laptop on overnight any more. The overheating
finally killed the hard drive so I stopped using it for awhile. It
certainly still does overheat and shut down, for instance while doing
package builds (a shame as it's my fastest machine). But the symptom of
hanging and running hot is gone.
I'd call this bug fix released, thanks.
