thanks for the info and links. The patch at
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg39396.html should certainly
be present in precise's kernel, but just to test, on the machine where it
fails, could you try running without apic (remove the
<apic/>
line from the xml, or turn it off with virtual machine manager under
'machine details'?
