I have tested using Kernel versions 3.4-precise as well as 3.5-quantal
and 3.6-rc1-quantal. The issue was not fixed.
I can't make a direct comparsion, however my impression was that the
stepping effect was tad bit improved. At the same time, the touchpad
felt less responsive.
