Public bug reported:

In 12.04 and earlier when running gtk-redshift on my nvidia-based
macbookpro it would correctly fail at randr, and then succeed at using
vidmode.

With quantal, I have to explicitly choose vidmode. I believe this is
because randr is succeeding where it would have failed before as it was
basically disabled in 12.04 and earlier.
