I tried the version 1.1 and didn't fix anything at all. Instead I found out this workaround http://askubuntu.com/questions/129656/how-do-i -downgrading-nvidia-drivers-in-12-04 and with version 290.10 up to now almost two days, never happened before, seems to work well. The downgrading is not a solution but it's better of nothing. I guess this could turn out to be useful still to developers because some changes they have made in the newer versions must be wrong.
