Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 precise with kernel "3.2.0-27 generic-pae" on a i686 Intel Dual Core.
Whenever I start with this or the -26 kernel, the process called "mount" is running continously at 100% in "top". I cannot kill or stop this process in any way, not even as root. When running on 3.2.0-25 or -24 everything is fine. The output of: erik@erik-Satellite-A300:~$ ps -e | grep mount ###on 3.2.0-27 296 ? 00:00:00 mountall 945 ? 00:02:47 mount erik@erik-Satellite-A300:~$ ps -e | grep mount ###on 3.2.0-24 281 ? 00:00:00 mountall I have some ntfs-mounts in my fstab, but removing them don't solve the problem. I tried it like this: erik@erik-Satellite-A300:~$ cat /etc/fstab proc /proc proc nodev, noexec, nosuid 0 0 #Entry for /dev/sda4 : UUID=2ac421c1-720c-433e-a05c-0f43c8eea18d / ext4 noatime,nodiratime,data=writeback,errors=remount-ro 0 1 #Entry for /dev/sdb6 : UUID=0bc6b74e-65d6-4f57-9c18-62d3bccf0d7d none swap sw 0 0 The output of "dmesg -k" on the 27-kernel you can find here: http://pastebin.com/MDUT2tb4 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ext4 mount -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034801 Title: "mount" is running continously at 100% To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1034801/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
