After installing the current updates, I have enabled tracing and tried to 
reproduce the issue.
And the problem still exists. 

I was able to reproduce the issue by switching users, this time the X11 system 
got completely unusable (hanging) and there also was a Segfault in compiz. 
After switching users, the newly logged in second user just got a hanging 
session where the panels and background were drawn incompletely and it was 
hanging, while it was only possible to move the mouse.
It was neither possible to interact with the session nor to switch users nor 
switch to a text console.

Fortunately I was able to login via ssh to save the tracing and then
reboot.
