I've been unable to reproduce it using the exact same directory and tree
you mentioned. I spent about 5 minutes clicking between directories back
and forth to the media/v4l/ directory - some with hundreds of files in,
some only a few.
I'm wondering if it could be specific to a particular video driver,
compositor or screen configuration?
