Matthew, is the problem occurring with ALL sound files or just a particular file? I've just encountered a strange problem on two different Ubuntu 10.04 LTS computers with completely different hardware, wherein a monaural radio show "podcast" MP3 file will not play in Audacious 2.3 with the Audacious Mixer enabled. When I turn the mixer off, the sound comes out of the speakers, but, of course, I now have no tone control, because the equalizer is in the mixer section of Audacious. When I play a stereo MP3 file ripped from a music CD, the mixer can be switched on and off at will and sound comes out of the speakers continuously. While Audacious was exhibiting the no-sound problem, all other sound producing programs on the two computers appeared to be working normally.
For reference, I tried playing both files with Winamp 2.95 on a Microsoft Windows 98SE machine, and WInamp allowed me to switch the mixer on and off with both files without loss of sound. Although Audacious is a near-clone of Winamp for Linux, in this respect it fails. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993516 Title: Audacious does not play audio (12.04 upgrade) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/audacious/+bug/993516/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
