>From the logs you can see that the error came from the ESET module itself:
[ 2254.206574] update-desktop-[5842] trap invalid opcode ip:7f6998fc8d25 sp:7fff1080d330 error:0 in libesets_pac.so[7f6998fbe000+3f000] This means that the people at ESET have compiled the module in a strange way (perhaps with an old compiler). The problem definitely lies with them and will probably manifest with almost all other applications, since that library is a file access checker module. For this reason, I recommend uninstalling ESET instead of trying to fix things manually - it's an expensive process (in terms of time) and it will potentially break things in the future. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035623 Title: package desktop-file-utils 0.20-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 132 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1035623/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
